Charles Brunette

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Charles "Chuck" Leroy Brunette, 78, died Saturday, May 3, 2014. He was born on Jan. 9, 1936, in Cecil, Wisconsin, to Esther and John Brunette. He graduated from Shawano High School and enlisted in the Army Air Corps. He served in the military police in North Africa and France, where he married Cristianne. After his service, they lived in Milwaukee and Fox Point. Chuck worked at Miller Brewing Co. and Chrysler Motors until his retirement. He met and married his surviving wife, Caroline Mary Wozniak, and they lived for the past 21 years in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas. Chuck enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, dancing, ice fishing and gardening with his families. He was a very handy man and was always helping his elderly neighbors with the shoveling, snow blowing (while in Wisconsin) washing and hanging storm windows. He was a member of the Honorary Police Department, Boating and Fishing, and Lions Clubs. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in New Mexico, and St. Mary of the Mount Catholic Church in Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Michele Brunette, and is survived by his wife, Caroline, and daughters Linda (Tim) Feider, Corinne (Craig) Nordby and Monique (David) Pospyhalla; and six grandchildren, Olivia, Natalie, Ava, Amanda, Dylan and Hannah. He is also survived by six stepchildren: Deborah (Len), Eileen, (Richard), Diane, Kay (Pedro), Michele (Douglas), Steven (Julie) and 10 stepgrandchildren: Sarah, Luke, Katherine, Benjamin, Marisa, Alina, Sofia, Gabriel, Aria and Chloe. Visitation for Mr. Brunette will begin at La Paz-Graham Chapel at 555 W. Amador Ave. at 6 p.m. May 16, where the prayer vigil is scheduled for 7 p.m. Family and friends will join together to celebrate the funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1327 N. Miranda St. Serving as casket bearers will be step-grandchildren Katherine and Benjamin Stallard, Gabriel Jordan, Sarah and Luke Abel and stepson Steve Wozniak. He will be cremated and placed in the St. Francis Columbarium.
