Charles Stearns

Charles "Charlie" Stearns, 76, a resident of Silver City, N.M. entered eternal rest Saturday, April 20, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born Dec. 9, 1936 in Berea, Ohio to Elwood and Mamie (Purcella) Stearns. Mr. Stearns proudly served his country when he enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked and retired as an electrical inspector for the state of New Mexico. He was a member of Tyrone Community Church. He is survived by his loving wife Barbara; two sons, Robert, and Scott Stearns and wife Katheryn; three daughters, Pamela Rice and husband Donal, Tammy Atteberry and husband Rick and Monica Bennett; two sisters; Ana May LaMay and husband Tommy, and Irene Watkins; one brother, Berkley Stearns, and a great host of grandchildren and nieces, and nephews, cousins and friends. Viewing will be held Monday, April 29 from 9-10 a.m. at Terrazas Funeral Chapels. The funeral service will commence at 10 a.m. with Don Kejr and Don Dykehouse officiating. Concluding service interment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery with full military honors. Floyd Robertson will conclude the interment service. Pallbearers will be Rusty and Danny Shelton, Cecil Muncy, Mike Goodson, Monty Coe and Jason Stearns. Honorary pallbearers will be Dave Anderson, Dave Smith, Jim Hamilton and Luis Terrazas.
