Eula (Riddle) King left her earthly family and joined her heavenly family on March 25, 2013. At the time of her death she was living at the Sierra Hills Care Center in Truth or Consequences, N.M.Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Baca's Funeral Chapels. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Baca's Funeral Chapels with Pasto Earsdeye Ross officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery. Eula was born to George and Lucy Riddle in Branson, Mo. on June 7, 1916. Eula was the oldest daughter of seven children. She attended school in Branson graduating in 1933. She was very athletic and played the violin in the High School orchestra. She married Jim King in Eureka Springs, Ark. in 1933. Jim and Eula had three children, Billy Joe, Peggy Ann and Patty Lou. In 1941 the family moved to New Mexico, first to Bayard and then to Santa Rita. Eula taught Sunday School at the Community Church in Santa Rita for many years and later became the Sunday School superintendent even after the church moved to Arenas Valley, near Silver City. Eula always sang in the church choir. While in Santa Rita she coached the women's softball team and played on the women's basketball team and sang in the Silver City Community Chorus. Eula also worked in the Santa Rita Company Store and made many lifelong friends. Jim and Eula moved to Silver City in 1961. She continued her athletic activities in the Silver City bowling league and won many honors for her ability. Her sweet nature and caring ways won her a place in the hearts of many that she knew. Eula and Jim always loved fishing and they taught their son Bill, daughter Patty and their three grandsons, Jim, Don and Billy how to fish and also cleaned the fish for them. She was an avid gardener and passed that love to her daughter Peggy. She provided flowers from her garden to the church services every Sunday. Eulas's husband, Jim passed away in 1980. She is survived by her son Billy Joe and wife Dona of T or C; her daughter Peggy Ann and her husband, Neal Flowers of Clarkston, Wash. and her daughter Patty Lou Broome of Hampton, Va..
