Eva Morales Garcia, age 86, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013 in Las Cruces. She was born March 7, 1927 in Carlsbad to Anastacio and Manuela Ontiveros Morales. Eva was a housekeeper and a homemaker, who enjoyed making tortillas, sweet tea and menudo for all of her family and friends. She always welcomed them into her home with open arms. Eva had an amazing laugh that was always the heart of the family. Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Jose Garcia of the family home; one son, Joe Garcia and wife Kay of Pennsylvania; daughters, Priscilla Garcia, Vicenta Cardona and husband Jose, and Linda Garcia and husband Fidel all of Las Cruces. Other survivors included 21 grandchildren, Abe Garcia (Melissa), Nacho Garcia, Bobby Fernandez (Sandra), Fabian Fernandez (Priscilla), Ruth McDonald (Ryan), Claudia Vasquez ( Hector), Javier Vasquez, Rose Clemente (William), Valerie Garcia (Jamie), Annette Garcia (David), Paul Garcia, Mickey Garcia, Angel Garcia, Javier Torres, John Garcia (Helen), Isaac Garcia (Gloria), Jesse Ordones (Ryanne), Eva Ordones, Nelly Garcia (Ricardo), Lupe Garcia (Juan) and Erick Garcia; 44 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Eva was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Pablo Garcia in 1985, a grandson Mark Garcia and a great-grandson, Pablo D. Garcia. Visitation for Mrs. Garcia will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2013 in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road where the Evening Service is scheduled for 7 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013 in the same chapel with Pastor Luis Lara officiating. Concluding Service and Interment will follow in the Doña Ana Cemetery where she will lay to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be Isaac, John, and Mickey Garcia, Jesse Ordones, Fabian and Bobby Fernandez. Honorary bearers are Angel and Erick Garcia.
