Our beloved mother, sister, grandmother and aunt, Evangelina "Eva" Carbajal Gutierrez, 81, of Tortugas entered eternal life to be with her heavenly Father on Monday, February 10, 2014 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. "Eva" as she was fondly known to family and friends was born December 18, 1932 in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico to Jose and Josefina Alvidrez Carbajal. She was a homemaker and a devout member of the Roman Catholic Church.
Survivors include her loving husband, Pedro Gutierrez of the family home; four sons, Jesus Gutierrez and wife Vilma of Santa Fe, Roberto Gutierrez and wife Anna of Las Cruces, Enrique Gutierrez and wife Rosa of Anthony, and Arturo Gutierrez and wife Christina of Mesquite; two daughters, Carmen Rausch of Tortugas and Soledad Juarez and husband Juan of Louisiana; two brothers, Santiago Carbajal of Sunland Park, and Alejandro Carbajal of Mexico City, Mexico; a sister, Amalia Carbajal of Parral Chihuahua, Mexico. Other survivors include fourteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Eva was preceded in death by parents and a brother, Ramon Carbajal.
Visitation for Mrs. Gutierrez will begin at 6 PM Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe, 3600 Parroquia Street in Tortugas where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 7 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, February 18, 2014 in the same church with Reverend Vincent Petersen officiating. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Tortugas Cemetery where she will be laid to rest.
Serving as casket bearers will be Jesus Gutierrez, Roberto Gutierrez, Jr. Arturo Gutierrez, Christian Rausch, Enrique Gutierrez, Sr. and Paul Juarez. Honorary bearers will be Juan Rausch, Irvin Flores, Zack Gutierrez and Juan Juarez, Jr.
