Floyd Lee Barrett, 87, passed away on Nov. 24, 2012 in his home with family in attendance. Floyd was born on the family farm in Pampa, Texas to Ben and Allie Barrett. He was a 1943 graduate of Pampa High School. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy
in New Guinea from 1944-1946. He married Ruth Elva Matheny on April 2, 1946. He worked for Kewanee Oil Company and retired from Chevron Oil Company. Floyd and Ruth moved to Las Cruces on Dec. 28, 2011 to be near family. Floyd was the seventh of nine children. He has one remaining brother, Raymond Barrett (Dorothy) of Pampa, sister in law Lois Barrett and numerous nieces and nephews. Floyd was a loving and well-loved and respected husband, father, grand, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ruth Elva and two daughters: Martha Lee Wildman (Tom) of Las Cruces and Margaret Ellen Wildman (Charles) of El Paso, Texas. His six grandchildren are Thomas Joseph Wildman (Amy) and Teresa Ruth Sletten (Eric) of Las Cruces; Kimberlee Ann Henry (Richard) and Christopher Joseph Wildman (Nancy) of El Paso, and Melissa Lee Aranda (Jacob) and Michael Barrett Wildman (Christina). His nine great grandchildren are Army Pvt. Joseph Sanchez of Germany; Christina, Tomas, Evan Wildman, and Jessica Sletten of Las Cruces; Hannah Aranda and Naomi Wildman of Rio Rancho, N.M.; Ethan Henry and Sophia Wildman of El Paso. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Mesilla Valley Hospice and to Liz Tarin, R.N. for her loving care and attention to Floyd's ever needs. Visitation for Floyd will be held on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at La Paz-Graham's Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Las Cruces under the direction of La Paz-Graham's Funeral Home with Rev.
