Francisco "Kiko" Landeros Sierra, 79, followed the path that the Lord had laid for him on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at his residence with his family at his bedside after a long courageous battle with cancer. Frank was born June 18, 1934 in Santa Rita, NM to Antonio Sierra and Isabel Landeros Sierra. Mr. Sierra proudly served his country with the U.S. Army
. He was in the 82nd Airborne Division. He worked for James Hamilton Construction in Santa Rita with his close friends, Mr. Larry Clark and Chino. He was a member of the VFW
3347 in Arenas Valley, where in the past he had been a Senior Vice Commander. He also belonged to the American Legion-Golding Post 8 in Silver City, was a member of the Knights of Columbus 3388 in Silver City. Last but not least a member of the Moose Lodge 1718. Frank was a volunteer driver for the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) transport taking patients who needed rides to the VA Hospital in Albuquerque. At one time he was also a councilman for the town of Silver City. He is survived by his long time companion and caregiver Beatrice Gallardo and his little dog Prince of the family home; two daughters, Hilda Sierra Rocha of Cucamanga, CA; Frances Sierra Kinkead and husband Jeff of Rowland Heights, CA; four grandchildren and one great grandson; two brothers, Santos Sierra (Dora) of Hurley; Arthur "Art" Sierra (Susie) of Silver City; four sisters, Elena Archuleta of Kearny, AZ; Esperanza Alviso of Banning, CA; Cecilia "Chila" Abalos (Edward) of Silver City; Isabel "Chavela" Arzola (Danny) of Mesa, AZ; special sister-in-law, Lucy Sierra of Las Cruces; a godson, Anthony Romero Sierra; a goddaughter, Martha Alviso Forbes of CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Alfredo Sierra Sr., Willie Sierra Sr., Albert "Quate" Sierra Sr. and Lorenzo "Cooney Man" Sierra Sr.; a daughter, Christina "Tina" Sierra of Cucamanga, CA. Visitation will be Monday, December 16 from 11-11:30am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the holy rosary to begin at 11:30am with Carmen Terrazas reciting. The funeral mass will follow at 12:30pm at St. Francis Newman Center with Father Tony Basso officiating. Concluding service interment will follow with full military honors at Fort Bayard National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alfredo Sierra Jr., Lorenzo Sierra Jr., Eddie Abalos, Mike Davila, Ernie Archuleta, Joseph Alviso, Gilbert Arzola and Willie Sierra.
