Jerry Glenn Lyman, 51, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at his home in Alamogordo, N.M. He was born on May 30, 1961 in Hays, Kan. to Jerry and Synda Hooper Lyman. Glenn was a lifelong resident of Alamogordo, except for five years while he attended New Mexico State University. Those left to mourn Glenn's passing are his wife of 27 years, Patricia Lyman; his daughter, Danielle Lyman and her significant other, Mike Sutton; his parents, Jerry and Margo Lyman; Patricia's parents, Richard and Terry Kondo; Patricia's brothers, Steven Kondo and wife Betty, and James Kondo; his aunt, Patty Speer-Palacio and husband Tony; his nieces and nephews, Zana Zmily, Lexie Kondo, Nidal Zmily, Cameron Anderson and Jordan Kondo; his cousins, Kimberly Morrison and husband Jack, Theron Speer, Garrett Speer, Merissa Eisenhauer, Meranda Jack; and several great friends. Glenn was preceded in death by his mother Synda, sister Amber, and grandparents, Jack and Opal Lyman and Wilbur and Nora Hooper. The joy of Glenn's life was his wife and daughter, and his dog Sadie. He worked at Heart of the Desert Pistachio Farm until his health failed. After that, he found pleasure in doing chores around the house and minor yard work. Glenn rarely complained about his condition. He was an avid baseball fan, loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, and horse racing. He and his daughter shared a love of nature and wildlife, which influenced her to pursue a degree in biology. In his Dad's eye, Glenn was the most courageous man he has ever known. . A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. Harry Riser officiating.
