Jesus Marquez, 91, died at his home on July 9, 2014, surrounded by his wife and children. Jesus was born to Narciso Marquez and Josefina Camacho in Villa Aldama, Chihuahua, Mexico, on Feb. 22, 1923. He married the love of his life, Regina Lujan, on May 2, 1959, in Chihuahua. At a young age, he left home and under the Bracero Program entered the United States as an agricultural worker until his retirement. Together they raised five loving children. In the early 1960s, he brought his family to the United States, first making them a home in La Mesa, then La Union, and eventually settling in Anthony, New Mexico. Jesus is survived by his wife of 55 years, his children, Maria Elena Olson (Randy) of Montana, Gloria Marquez (Paul) of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Regina M. Blanco (Miguel) of El Paso, Texas, Jesus L. Marquez (Gabriela) of Anthony, New Mexico, and Alberto Marquez (Becky) of Las Cruces, New Mexico. He is also survived by one sister, Carol Perez, and loving niece, Yolanda Morales of El Paso. Jesus is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A visitation is scheduled to take place at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Anthony, New Mexico, on Sunday, July 13, 2014, at 5 p.m., followed by a prayer vigil at 6 p.m. A funeral liturgy is scheduled for Monday, July 14, 2014, at 10 a.m., also at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
