Jesus Yañez Sr.

Jesus "Chuy" B. Yañez Sr., went to be with our Lord on Saturday, April 13, 2013, in La Porte, Texas, after an ongoing battle with cancer. He was born Oct. 18, 1934, in El Paso, Texas, to Santos and Romana Borunda Yañez. "Chuy," as he was fondly known to his family and friends, retired as automobile painter. Those left to mourn his passing include two sons, Jesus S. Yañez Jr. and wife, Isabel, and Andres Yañez Sr. and wife, Lydia, all of La Porte, Texas; two daughters, Virginia Barbosa and husband, Jose, of Alamogordo, and Ramona Chavez of La Porte, Texas. Other survivors include 14 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren whom he loved and inspired. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Genoveva G. Yañez. Visitation for Mr. Yañez will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013, in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road, where the funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. with his son, Rev. Jesus S. Yañez Jr., officiating. Concluding service and interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, where he will lay to rest alongside his wife. Serving as casket bearers will be AJ Yañez, Adrian Yañez, Joseph Hernandez, Christopher Hernandez, David Ponce and Joseph Gibson.
