John T. Forni, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully on Monday, March 17, 2014, after a long illness. John was born in Springfield, Mass., to Joseph L. Forni and Elizabeth Barry Forni on June 14, 1935, and spent his early years in the Springfield area. He entered the Army
in 1955 and was stationed in Hawaii until his honorable discharge in 1957. He moved to New Mexico in 1980, working for the city of Las Cruces and Southern New Mexico Correctional Facility until his retirement in 2001. John enjoyed camping with his family and friends, visiting all 50 of the United States in his lifetime. His ready smile and sense of humor will be missed by so many. John leaves behind his beloved wife of 54 years, Darlene P. Forni, their daughter Denise Forni Lemire and her husband, Wayne, and his son Mark Scott Forni and his wife, Trini. He also leaves his grandchildren, Jonathon Jasak and wife, Sara, April Jasak-Bangs and husband, Will, Bertram Forni, and Giuseppe Forni, as well as several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. John was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph and Delfo Forni and a granddaughter Morgan Elizabeth. John will also be missed by his sisters-in-law Antoinette and Doris, and his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who have shared his life. There will be a memorial service at East Mesa Baptist Church on Friday, March 21, 2014 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the
