John D. Sandoval passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 at MedWest Harris Hospital at the age of 67. He was born in Chicago, Ill. on April 7, 1945. John Lived in Las Cruces from the age of 14 through age 36. Prior to living in Las Cruces he was a resident of Santa Fe, N.M. where he attended St. Michaels and lived with his mother, Dorothy Pfeiffer Devine and his brother Cameron. It was after his mother's untimely death that he and Cameron came to Las Cruces to live with their guardians, Claude and Mary Alice Bowlin along with their daughter, Cheryll. He graduated from Las Cruces High school and New Mexico State University with a bachelor's degree in Business. While in Las Cruces, he was involved in multiple business ventures as well as farming in Berino, N.M. for eight years. After leaving Las Cruces, he was a part-time resident of Key West, Fla. and Sylva, N.C. He is survived by the mother of his children Connie Hines, his three children, Cameron J. Sandoval, Robert C. Sandoval and Camille L. Plante; four grandsons, Cameron, Tristan, Cody and Cruz. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Dorothy Pfeiffer Devine, his father, Eduardo "Chico" Sandoval, his brother, Cameron Devine and his guardian, Claude Bowlin. John's chosen path in life left behind many friends that will always remember him as an unforgettable, adventuresome individual who sought his dreams through his various travels and unique experiences.
