John Wallace

John Robert "Bobby" Wallace, 75, crossed over to eternal life on Saturday, March 23, 2013. He was born August 3, 1937 in Carlsbad, N.M. to James B. and Bernice Belcher Wallace. He is survived by his daughters, Joyce Lameire of Aztec, N.M. and Kimberly Wallace of Austin, Texas; two grandchildren, Cori Wallace of Las Cruces and R.C. Wallace, U S Army; Two great-grandchildren, T J and Lorenzo; his sister Helen Dawes; six nieces and two nephews; close friends and a special thanks to Wanda and John M. Wyatt. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, William (Bill) Waldron, James E (Buddy) Wallace and Jerry Wallace. Bobby proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Gudgeon SS-567, 1955 - 1958. Witch made history becoming the first U.S. submarine to circumnavigate the globe. He worked for Douglas Aircraft, Western Electric, Bendix, and Raytheon. He was an avid reader and writer. According to his wishes his body has been cremated. His ashes will be interred at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Arrangements by Getz Funeral Home.
