Katherine Haner, 93, passed away in Litchfield Park, Arizona, on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2014, with her daughter, Beverly, by her side. Katherine, known to most people as Katie, was born in 1921 to Pete and Angelina Andreoli in Eagle Nest, New Mexico. She was number nine in a family of 10 children. Katie and her husband, Charles, and their two children, Beverly and Mark, moved to Las Cruces in 1957. This was home for over 50 years, where she raised their two children and was very involved in the community with her husband, Charles. Katie's passions were her family, cooking just about anything, but especially Italian food, and growing beautiful flowers. Her rose garden provided the flowers on many Sundays for her church, St. Paul's Methodist, where she and Charles were active from the time they moved to Las Cruces. In 2013, Katie moved to the Phoenix area to be close to her daughter and family. She was preceeded in death by her husband and all of her siblings. Those who knew Katie will remember her smile, her willingness to help anyone in need, her ability to listen to friends who needed someone to lean on and the love she had for her family. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Griggs (Gary) in Arizona and her son, Mark (Sandra) in New Jersey; her grandchildren, Kim Guerin (Scott), Michael Griggs (Shelly), Matthew and Alison Haner; and two great-grandchildren, McKenna King and Rooney Jane Guerin. They will all miss her dearly, but take comfort knowing she is with her Lord and at peace. A memorial/celebration of life service will be held at St. Paul's Methodist Church on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014 at 10:30 a.m.
