Lyn Abbott

Lyn (Krieg) Abbott ended her epic battle with cancer on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Mesilla Valley Hospice. Lyn was born in Kokomo, Ind. on Sept. 29, 1959, to Arthur and Doris Krieg. In 1980, Lyn met the love of her life, Ray Abbott Jr. The couple moved to La Mesa, N.M., where the two lovingly raised their family. Lyn dedicated 18 years to the U.S. Postal Service, to help provide for her family. Lyn was such a beautiful person inside and out. She was caring, a wonderful wife, mother and friend. She touched the hearts of many, whether friends, family, co-workers or acquaintances. Lyn is survived by her husband Ray Abbott Jr. of the family home; three sons, Trae, his wife Ashley Abbott and unborn grandbaby, Beau Abbott, Art, his wife Bernice Abbott and granddaughter Scarlet Abbott, all of which reside in Las Cruces; her daughter Cherlynn, husband Ryan and grandsons Justin and Chase Coles of Killeen, Texas. Lyn also is survived by her brother Don Krieg of Texas; sisters Kim Franks and Missy Walters of Indiana; mother-in-law June Abbott and sister-in-law Sandra Abbott, both of La Mesa. She was preceded in death by her parents. Services will be entrusted to La Paz-Graham's Funeral Home and be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013 at St. Pauls Methodist church in Las Cruces. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Mesilla Valley Hospice in Las Cruces.
