Schroon Lake- Las Cruces, NM; Raymond "Clifford" Rogers 75, passed away unexpectedly April 30, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Cliff is with his savior that he loved and served his whole life. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. the son of the late Pastor R. Clifford Rogers and Gretta Adams Rogers. Cliff lived in Schroon Lake for over 30 years. Prior to living in the Adirondack Mountains, Cliff and Phyllis lived in Saddle River, NJ, where he worked for RCA, Phillips Electronics and later Continental Electronic. Cliff served in the US Army, stationed at White Sands Missle Range, NM from 1960-1962. The Rogers have had many businesses in the area including, Great Northern Auto Parts and Silver Spruce Inn. Cliff is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Phyllis Winder Rogers, his daughter Dorothy Rogers ( Daniel) Bullis of Saratoga Springs, his son Raymond (Susan Barrett) Rogers III of Whitmore Lake, MI; His grandchildren Andrew and Grant Bullis, Victoria, Katherine, Raymond IV (Ford), and Barrett Rogers; his siblings, Paul (Gwynne) Rogers of Jefferson City, MO; Margaret (Dr. John) Austin of Manlius, NY; Mary Rogers of Eden Mills, Ontario, Canada.; Mother-in-law Dorothy Winder and sisters-in-law Doris (Edwin) Lindquist of Hulmeville, Pa. and Gail (Ron) Testa of Elizabethtown, NY. Cliff touched many lives, he was not a rich man but he gave everything he had to help others. From the numerous exchange students and missionaries that he supported to the advice he gave to people who asked, Cliff was always there. His selfless life and his complete integrity made him an inspiration to everyone around him. Whether as a gracious host of the Silver Spruce Inn, or mentor to his children and grandchildren, Cliff always made you feel important to him. His council was unique. He wouldn't necessarily help you out of a problem he would help you help yourself out of a problem. He would always end with, "now who is in charge?" The answer being God. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday morning May 4th at 11:00 AM at Mountainside Bible Chapel on Rt. 9, exit 27 Schroon Lake. Friends may call from 6-8 PM on Thursday May 3rd at the Edward L.
