Sandra Lucero

Sandra "Sandy" Jean Lucero, of Mesilla, has been called by the Lord at the young age of 33. Sandy entered eternal rest on the early morning of Jan. 16, 2013. She brought overwhelming joy and happiness to her family and friends and was truly God's angel put on this earth for a short period of time. Sandy lived life to the fullest, and many can attest to her free spirit and compassion for others. She was selfless and put all others before her. Sandy was a supervisor in the Clerk's Office of Doña Ana County. She was involved for many years with the Whole Enchilada Fiesta and dedicated a tremendous amount of her time to LCHS Bulldawg football and baseball in support of her beloved nephew AJ. Those left to mourn her passing include her loving parents, Ralph S. and Jeannie Lucero of Mesilla; a brother, Ralph Lucero Jr. and wife Marisa of La Mesa; two nephews, Adrian Jacob Lucero and Zachary Anthony Lucero; her four-legged babies, Lexie, Mandee and Lulu as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, godchildren and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Andres N. and Magdalena Lucero; and her paternal grandparents, Edmundo and Emma Lucero. Visitation for Sandy will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013 in the Basilica of San Albino, 2070 Calle Principal where the prayer vigil is scheduled for 6 p.m. Family and friends will join together to celebrate the funeral mass at 10 a.m. in the same church with Rev. Rogelio Martinez officiating. The rite of committal and interment will follow in the San Albino Cemetery where she will be laid to rest. A reception in honor of Sandy will be held following the burial at The Grapevine Event Center, 3900 W. Picacho Ave. All are welcome to attend! Serving as casket bearers will be Ralph Lucero Jr., Adrian "AJ" Lucero, Richard Paul Barraza, Mike Rosales, Mario Jimenez and Andy Perez. Honorary bearers will be Reena Rodriguez, Angelica Valenzuela, Alma Arroyo, Cindy Chavez and Yvette Trujillo.
