They loved their little 1971 Volkswagen Campmobile, and they traveled in it to Florida more than a dozen times to Panama Canal Society reunions. They fulfilled one of their travel dreams by driving the little VW van from Las Cruces to Panama on the Pan American Highway. While in town, Sue enjoyed belonging to various women's clubs, including Kappa Kappa Iota, the Women's Improvement Association, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
