Barbara Jean Eggenberger, 83, entered into eternal peace on Friday, October 18, 2013, at the Mesilla Valley Hospice in Las Cruces after a long and valiant struggle with Multiple Sclerosis. Barbara was born on April 4, 1930 in Claremont, New Hampshire, the youngest daughter of the late Joseph and Marion Manning. She graduated from Stevens High School in 1948 and worked as a dental assistant before joining the United States Navy in 1951. While serving her country she met and in November 1959, married her life partner, AMSC John T. Eggenberger USN (ret). She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved "baby brother", James and favorite brother-in-law, Grafton Magill. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her devoted husband of 53 years, daughter Marion and son-in-law Melvin G. Jones, her siblings, R. Eleanor Magill and Joseph S. Manning, and two granddaughters, Michelle and Rachel Jones. At Barbara's request. a graveside memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 11:00 am at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, El Paso, Texas.
