Ivan E. Stegemann, 94, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, died July 16, 2014, in hospice care. He was born July 31, 1919, in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, son of the late William and Barbara (Schleger) Stegemann. He graduated from Washington High School, Two Rivers, with the class of 1937. Upon graduation, Ivan attended Business College at Manitowoc. He was an Army veteran of WWII, being stationed in Europe and North Africa. Ivan married the late Doretta (Mellas) Stegemann on Dec. 1, 1945, residing in his hometown of Two Rivers, where he raised his family. He was employed briefly at Hamilton Industries, and thereafter, was a longtime employee of Eggers Industries, working as a billing clerk in the company office, and in the capacity of personnel manager during the 1960s. During his employment at Eggers, Ivan also served as treasurer of Eggers Employees Credit Union, and as first-aid person for factory employees. Ivan retired from Eggers Industries in 1981. In 1985, Ivan married Cathy Jaklin, and resided at Two Rivers. In 1989, they relocated to Las Cruces to experience living in the arid, sunny Southwest. He is survived by his wife, Cathy Stegemann, of Las Cruces; children, Susan (Phil) Rohrer, of Two Rivers; William (Mary) Stegemann, of Manitowoc; and Gary (Barb) Stegemann, of Two Rivers; his stepchildren, Wendy Castagna, of Waukesha, Wisconsin; David Jaklin, of Las Cruces; and Scott Jaklin of Manitowoc. He is further survived by five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place in Las Cruces, with the cremated remains being laid to rest at his hometown of Two Rivers. A memorial service was held at Mission Lutheran Church, Las Cruces, on Monday, July 21, 2014.
