Having known Joe since I first moved to Las Cruces back in 1991, I am going to miss him dearly. I will always remember our time on the field umpiring together at NMSU, and also the spring of 1995 when we partnered up during the Major League Umpire strike. I have many fond memories of those days and will cherish those memories the rest of my life. I am shocked and deeply saddened with the loss of my good friend. I feel for his family in this very sad time! Rest assured that he will never be forgotten. My wife and family offer our condolences! God has a plan for Joe and he is probably working a double header in heaven right now! God needed an umpire in heaven!

My dear neighbors from Mesilla Park. I have Mr. Padilla to thank for spiritual my growth in high school. He allowed us to pray and meet in his class room 7;30 AM. Mr. Padilla also took a bunch us in a bus to Jesus Chapel in ElPaso to hear Christian bands play on Fri. nights. My deepest condolances to the family and friends.
