"Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, by looking back in memory may help comfort you tomorrow." John Quincy Lennon passed away peacefully after an extended illness in Deming, N.M. on Tuesday evening April 2, 2013. John was born July 3, 1928 in Quincy, Mass. He served many years in the U.S. Marine Corps including four tours overseas. He often said that he was a veteran of "almost" four wars. His last employment after many, John worked as a civilian employee at the Marine Corps Air Station in El Toro, Calif. He retired in 1991 and later moved to Deming in 1993. He is preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, parents, two brothers and two sisters. John will be lovingly remembered and be immeasurably missed by his faithful companion Shirley McFarlin of his home in Deming; a stepdaughter in Nebraska; many nieces and one nephew. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned. Memorials or donations at John Quincy Lennon's request may be made to: "Educate New Mexico," Box 794, Albuquerque, NM 87103. A favorite of John was the Prayer to the Angels of God - "Angel of God, My Guardian Dear To Whom His Love Commits Me Here Ever This Day Be At My Side To Light And Guard To Rule And Guide. Amen.
