Juan A. Gonzalez, 68, of Las Cruces entered eternal life Monday, Oct. 22, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born Feb. 21, 1944 in Santa Rita to Juan P. and Ramona Arellano Gonzalez. Juan served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy; he retired from Foxworth Galbraith Lumber Company as a foreman and truck driver, and was member of the Roman Catholic Church. Those left to mourn his passing included his two sons, Rolando Gonzalez and companion Sandi Bustillos, and Hector Gonzalez; three brothers, Tony Gonzalez, Daniel Gonzalez and wife Nancy all of Las Cruces; and Manuel Gonzalez and wife Rosie of California; three sisters, Florence G. Parker and husband Mike of Las Cruces, Teresa G. Saucedo of California and Rosie G. Solis and husband Alfonso of Roswell. Other survivors include four grandchildren, Eric, Danielle and Tonirae Gonzalez and Eryka Murillo, his former wife, Gloria Munoz, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Dolores Gonzalez. At his request cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2012 in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral, 1240 S. Espina St. Inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date. Military honors will be accorded by a U.S. Navy Honor Guard and the Marine Corps League - El Perro Diablo Detachment.
