Robert E. Waggoner, 71, of Las Cruces entered enteral life Thursday, April 25, 2013, after a prolonged battle with cancer. He was born June 17, 1941, in Coolidge, Ariz., to Paul and Inez Padgett Waggoner. Robert was a veteran of the U.S Army, assigned to Ft. Detrick, Md. He was a member of the Freemasons, and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. Robert was retired from NASA where he worked as an engineer with the space shuttle program. One of his greatest loves were his pet dogs, most of which were rescues. Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Sharon Frye Waggoner of the family home; two daughters, Coleen Harwell and Patricia Waggoner; one son, Michael; two brothers, Michael and Albert. Other survivors include several grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Yvonne Wolf.
