Thomas Alfred England (LCPD Lt. Ret.), 63, of Las Cruces entered eternal life Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012 at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque. He was born Sept. 28, 1949 in Flint, Mich. to Alfred Irving and Junetta England. Tom served his country honorably in the U.S. Army and retired after 22 years of service. After his military career he joined the Las Cruces Police Department where he attained the rank of lieutenant. Survivors include his wife, Sally England; two daughters, Jennifer Keane (Alex) of Houston, Texas and Erica England (Will Stringer) of Melbourne, Fla.; two brothers, David England (Denise) of Canada and Roger England of Las Cruces; four grandchildren, Aiden and Alac Keane and Toby Lorenzo and Elijah Stringer, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. At his request cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road with the Rev. Scott Ruthven officiating. Serving as honor guard and providing military honors will be members of the Las Cruces Police Department and U.S. Border Patrol.
