It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear brother, uncle and father, Albert James Cartwright. He left us on July 25, 2012 at La Posada Hospice after an extended illness. "Bob" as he was fondly known, will be terribly missed. The absence of his humor and cheerful conversations are already felt deeply. Albert was born May 21, 1918 in Paterson, N.J.; graduated college in Bloomington, Ill. with a degree in chemistry. He served his country with the Office of War Information while stationed in China during World War II. His career was spent in setting up water filtration systems for companies in Mexico and Central and South America in the 1950s and 60s, then in New York and New Jersey. He retired to his New Jersey home and later moved to Prince Edward Island, Canada from where he came to Las Cruces to spend the winter months. He is survived by two sons, John from San Diego and Peter who blessed him with a granddaughter, Leah, from Vermont.; his dear sister, Evelyn Coe, a nephew, David Coe and two nieces, Nancy and Teresa, all of Las Cruces. A memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 1800 S. Locust St., Las Cruces, N.M. on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012 at 1 p.m. followed by a reception for guests and loved ones.
The Guest Book is expired.
