Alfredo Q. Aleman, 55, of Tortugas entered eternal life on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center. He was born May 23, 1958, in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Nemecio and Elia Quintana Aleman. Alfredo was a maintenance worker at New Mexico State University and a member of the Roman Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Sylvana Giron Aleman, of the family home; his father, Nemecio Aleman of Las Cruces; five children and five step-children. Other survivors include two brothers, Jorge Aleman (Laura) and Adolfo Aleman of Ciudad Juarez; two sisters, Leticia Orona (Tony) of Las Cruces and Veronica Aleman (Roberto), also Ciudad Juarez, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elia Aleman in 1994, maternal grandparents, Espiridion and Refugio Quintana; paternal grandparents, Juan and Isabel Aleman; and his parents-in-law, Ruben and Angie Giron. Calling hours for Alfredo will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, in Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine and Parish in Tortugas with the prayer vigil scheduled for 6 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, in the same church with the Rev. Vincent Petersen, celebrant. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, 100 N. Espina, where he will be laid to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be Lonnie Orona, Marc Orona, Christina Iniquez, Michael Hernandez, Ricardo Mancha and E.J. Lucero. Honorary bearers will be David Torres, Kennedy Aleman, Leon Allen and Ray Martinez. Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels, 300 E.
