Arnold L. Zamora entered his eternal life on Oct. 12, 2012. Arnold was born on May 23, 1952 in Santa Rita, N.M. to Jesus and Carmen Zamora. He is survived by his loving wife, companion, and best friend of 31 years, Rose (Enriquez) Zamora and daughter Jacqueline P. Zamora (fiance Navy IT2 (SW) Robert S. Parra), and daughter Caroline Rose Zamora. Arnold also is survived by brothers Art, Denis (Debbie), Joe, and Ralph Zamora, all from Las Cruces; sisters Dora Marie Armitage of Las Cruces and Irene Zamora of Albuquerque; and family in-law Dioselina Archuleta (Ramon), Sylvia Mullard, both of San Antonio, Texas, Joe Enriquez (Monica) from Austin, Texas, Fred Enriquez From Everett, Wash. and Victor Enriquez of El Paso, Texas. Arnold also is survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, and his grand-dogs Maddie and Frankie. Arnold had fought diabetes for most of his life and after complications and kidney failure, he succumb to the disease. Arnold was a 27-year employee of WSTF/NASA (Lockheed, Allied Signal, and Honeywell), proud member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union Lodge 2515, and proud alumnus of New Mexico State University. Arnold's joys in life included coaching softball, hunting, playing pool and spending time with family and friends. Arnold began coaching softball in 1983 and throughout his lifetime coached local and high school teams, including his daughter's. Arnold was an avid pool player and despite the use of one eye and a prosthetic leg he was still 'the one to beat.' Arnold's incredibly positive spirit, smile, and cheerful demeanor gave him strength through his many trials. Arnold left this life fulfilled, knowing his wife's health was better, his oldest daughter graduated college and has begun her career with DHS, and his youngest daughter will be graduating with a master's degree in May. Even in death he is still giving to others as an organ donor. Pallbearers will be Art Zamora, Joe Zamora, Joe Enriquez, Serbring Lucero, Steve Livas, Tyrel Zamora, George Baird and Aaron Gravatt. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Zamora, Michael Contreras, Joey James, David Bedale, Craig Ultsch, Mike Caro, Lucky Rios and Larry Franco. He is proceeded in death by his mother and father, brothers Orlando and Tudy Zamora, nephew Cpl. Jesse M. Zamora, mother in law Teresa Enriquez, brother in law Ryan Armitage, and sister in law Tami F. Enriquez. A prayer vigil will be on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral at 7:30 p.m., with a funeral service on Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 at the church at 10 a.m. Arnold will forever in live in our hearts!
