Clara Monreal, 59, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014. She was a longtime resident of Las Cruces, N.M. She was born on Oct. 22, 1954, to Jose Refugio and Clara Martinez Monreal. Clara enjoyed painting and crocheting, she was a very strong and courageous woman who loved her family unconditionally. She will be remembered for her energetic spirit and good heart. Clara is survived by three children; Louie Monreal-Ojeda, Jose Alfredo Ojeda and Clara Corina Ojeda; two sisters, Martha Monreal, Marie Monreal; and two brothers, Gerardo Roberto Monreal and Jose Fernando Monreal; three grandchildren, Miguel, Arianna, and Mariah, as well as numerous cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Clara Martinez Monreal, and her husband, Ramiro Ojeda, and one brother. A visitation is scheduled for today, Jan. 29, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Getz Funeral Home Chapel, with the prayer vigil to begin at 7 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine and Parish, with burial to follow at the Tortugas Cemetery.
