Darrol L. Jeffers, 73, of Las Cruces, N.M., passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Oct. 13, 2012. Darrol is survived by his step-mother Relda Predmore, daughters Dawnell (Don) Gibbons, Jannea (Ronn) Wilson, his sons Bradley (Marva) Jeffers, Nathan (Suzi) Jeffers, sisters Carol Collier, Shelby Nye, Gina Jeffers, Anita Jeffers, Durinda Stewart, brothers Arden Jeffers, Dee Jeffers, and Warren Jeffers, 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Darrol is preceded in death by his parents Venla Bay and Jeff Jeffers, and Everet Predmore, and his brother Wayne Jeffers. He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather and friend to all. Darrol was born on Nov. 8, 1938 in Eureka, Nev. He was a dreamer and adventurer. As an athlete, he played football and baseball for Taft College, loved to ski Mammoth, enjoyed hunting with his sons, and cheered for his grandchildren at their sporting events. After receiving his master's degree in marriage and family counseling from BYU, Darrol worked as a counselor for years until he followed his heart in becoming an entrepreneur. He enjoyed to travel, loved reading and was an avid student of the Science of Man. Darrol was always willing to help family, friends, and strangers in need. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20 at The Grapevine Plaza located at 3900 W. Picacho. Darrol will be laid to rest in Eureka during the annual Bay Family Reunion in July. A special thank you to the Mesilla Valley Hospice in Las Cruces for their loving care and support.
