Obituary Condolences

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Edmunda R. Medina, 85, of La Mesa left her dwelling place on earth and entered eternal life to be with her heavenly Father, Monday, July 30, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 20, 1926 in Villa Lopez, Chihuahua, Mexico to Zeferino Nañez Reyes and Amada Melendez Chavez. Mrs. Medina was a homemaker and a communicant at San Jose Catholic Church. Those left to mourn her passing include a son, Antonio "Tony" Medina and wife Susan of Alamogordo; two daughters, Teresa "Terry" M. Stoltenberg and husband Richard, Delia M. Rivera and husband Mike C. all of La Mesa; a son-in-law, Emilio Perea of La Mesa; three brothers, Ignacio, Severo and Mario Reyes all of Villa Lopez, Chihuahua, Mexico; two sisters, Elfida Barrientos of La Mesa, Martha Cano of Villa Lopez, Chihuahua, Mexico. Other survivors include eight grandchildren, Jessica and Erica Holguin, Jesse Medina and wife Melissa, Angela Stoltenberg and companion Ryan Gonzales, Kristina Stoltenberg, Liana, Michael Felix and Nancy Rivera; seven great grandchildren, Alexis M. Torres, Elijah Garcia, Ryan and Joshua Gonzales, Zarida, Evangaline, and Noah Michael Ortega. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Felix "Blondie" Medina; two daughters, Mary Helen Medina and Rachel M. Perea; a brother, Gabriel Reyes. Visitation for Mrs. Medina will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, August 2, 2012 in San Jose Catholic Church, 353 Josephine Street in La Mesa where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 7 p.m. Family and Friends will join together to celebrate the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Friday, August 3, 2012 in the same church. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in San Jose Cemetery where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband. Serving as casket bearers will be Michael Felix Rivera, Oscar, Robert and Freddy Barrientos, Ryan Gonzales and Manuel Vargas.
