Elizabeth Marie Burton, 48, entered eternal rest in her loving home on Dec., 12, 2012 in Las Cruces, N.M. She was born on Nov. 8, 1964 in Anchorage, Alaska; a graduate of Charter College had meaningful careers in the medical field as well as early childhood education. She truly made a difference in every life she touched. She was a self-sacrificing, benevolent woman full of love and vivacity. Undoubtedly a valuable friend, ever tenacious about helping others whenever they were down on their luck. She was a free spirit, always on the go pursuing elation and peace of mind. Her many interests included cooking, reading, motorcycles, playing cards, drawing, music and dancing. Elizabeth is survived by her mother and former stepfather Teresa and Carlos Cortez; daughters, Anita Slavens, Stephanie Nevarez, Melissa and Brianna Fleck; sons, Andrew Burton and Jeremiah Slavens; sisters, Pamela Zielinski, Patricia Shroy and Kathleen Amand; brothers, James, Bobby, Michael and David Burton; grandchildren, Mina Haydon, Mia Slavens, Joseph Sehaesser, Seriah Veeder-Burton and another granddaughter on the way; as well as a vast extended family including many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Elizabeth had laughter in her eyes, warmth in her heart and kindness in her soul. She lived life to the fullest, a beautiful woman that will be deeply missed. Memorial services will be held at La Paz-Graham's Funeral Home Chapel at 555 W. Amador in Las Cruces at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012. To send condolences go to www.lapaz-grahams.com.
