Grapevine, Texas: Esther H. O'Dea, 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, after a long, productive life. Memorial Mass was Thursday, Jan. 23, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Bedford, Texas. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va., beside her husband, at a later date. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Knights of Columbus, Council #7641, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Bedford. Esther was born and raised near Arkansaw, Wisc. She met her husband in Washington, D.C., and lived most of her life in Las Cruces, N.M. She moved to Grapevine, Texas, to be near her grandchildren in 1992. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Patrick; her parents, August and Emma Hartung; brothers Ronnie Hartung and Ken Hartung; sister Fran Dresden; and nephews Bill Goldbeck and David Goldbeck. Survivors: Sister Gayle Hall of Pacific Grove, Calif.; son Patrick O'Dea and wife, Janet, of Grapevine; grandchildren Shannon Ferguson and husband, Sean, and Michael O'Dea, also of Grapevine; brother-in-law Thomas O'Dea and wife, Anita, of Annandale, Va.; brother-in-law Bill Dresden of Eau Claire, Wisc.; numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
