Our dear beloved father, brother and grandfather, FRANCISCO GRIJALVA BARRIO, age 81 of Doña Ana entered eternal life Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. "Frank", as he was fondly known to family and friends, was born July 11, 1933 in Las Cruces to Alfredo and Maria Grijalva Barrio. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy where he received a National Defense Service Medal. Frank was employed as a federal inspector and was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.
Those left to mourn his passing include a son, Jaime Barrio of Las Cruces; a daughter, Francesca Guest and husband Charles of California City, CA; two sisters, Gloria Gonzalez and Eva Garvey both also of Las Cruces. Other survivors include six grandchildren. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Debbie Carrillo Barrio, one grandson, Jaime Barrio and twelve siblings.
At his request cremation has taken place and Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 9:30 AM Monday, August 25, 2014 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church, 100 S. Espina, where the Memorial Mass will follow immediately thereafter. Inurnment of cremains will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Navy Honor Guard and the Marine Corps League - El Perro Diablo Detachment.
