Jose M. Esparza (Magua), 87, of Las Cruces, answered the calling of our dear Lord and entered eternal life on Feb. 4, 2013 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on June 25, 1925 in Chicago, Ill., to Eleodoro and Andrea Esparza. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who retired as the owner of his concrete company. Jose was known as a loving man with a deep conviction for his large and caring family who will always be remembered for his heartwarming smile. His adventurous life included a stint as a popular wrestler in Cd. Juarez MX known as El Mohicano. Jose was preceded in death by his former wife Maria G Esparza and recently by his sister Guadalupe Hernandez. He is survived by his wife, Rosa R Esparza, and 19 children of which eight are from his first marriage, 82 grandchildren, 185 great grandchildren and 40 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013 from 6-9pm at La Paz-Graham's Funeral Home with a prayer vigil. His funeral mass to celebrate his glorious life will be at 1pm on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church. Honorary pallbearers are Jose Esparza, Jose Luis Esparza, Jesus Esparza, Sergio Esparza, Eusebio Esparza, Alberto Esparza, Cesar Esparza and Carlos Esparza.
