Jose Parra Ferrales, 97, of Tortugas entered eternal life Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born Nov., 12, 1915 in Las Cruces to Casimiro T. and Maria Parra Ferrales. Jose was a member of the Laborer Union #7 and Los Indigenes de Nuestra Señora De Guadalupe where he was a devout member at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine and Parish. Those left to mourn his passing include four sons, Jose O. Ferrales, Jr., and wife Connie of Tortugas, Ernesto O. Ferrales and wife Lupe of Las Cruces, Richard O. Ferrales of Doña Ana and Miguel O. Ferrales and wife Jeanette of Mesilla Park. Other survivors include one brother, Arturo Ferrales of Las Cruces and two sisters, Elisa York of Tucson, Ariz. and Poly Montoya and husband Salvador of Tortugas; his loving dog and companion, "Popo;" 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins as well as his caregivers, Rafaela, Petra, Norma and Irelma. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Andrea Ochoa Ferrales in 2006; two sons, David and Daniel Ferrales, two daughters, Linda and Anita Ferrales, two sisters and four brothers. Visitation for Mr. Ferrales will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine and Parish, 3600 Parroquia St. in Tortugas where the prayer vigil is schedule for 7 p.m. The holy mass of resurrection will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013 in the same church with the Rev. Vincent Peterson, Celebrant. The rite of committal and interment will follow in the Tortugas Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be Adrian Gomez, Ernie Ferrales, Jr., Anita Ferrales, Thomas Benavidez, Daniel Ferrales and Evan Narvaez. Honorary bearers will be Angel Garcia, Oscar, Louis, Roberto and Jaime Ferrales and Sylvia Kaderly. The Ferrales family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels, 300 E.
