Jose D. Sandoval, a.k.a Shorty, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away on Saturday June 2, 2012. He was a resident of Doña Ana, N.M., born Oct. 16, 1933 in Colotlan, Jalisco, Mexico, to Matilde Sandoval and Agustina Proa. He was a retired laborer of Las Cruces, N.M. He enjoyed spending time with his great-grandchildren and being outdoors with his animals. He is survived by his wife Josefa Sandoval and 13 children; Dolores Ybarra, Yolanda Dominguez, Lupe Murillo, Minerva Ramirez of El Paso, Texas, Martha Cervantes and Felipe Sandoval of Chaparral, N.M. and Ernestine Lopez and Ana Maria Solano of Arizona. and Jose Jr., Adam, Carlos, Armando, and Albert Sandoval of Dona Ana, N.M. Also surviving him are 49 grandchildren and 75 great-grandchildren, and sister Felicitas Sandoval. Visitation will be held Friday, June 8, 2012 from 12 - 7 p.m. and funeral mass will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Graham's La Paz Funeral Home. Rite of Committal will be at Doña Ana Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Victor Garcia, Gilbert Jimenez, Diego Maturino and Angel Sandoval. Pallbearers will be his six sons; Felipe, Jose Jr., Adam, Carlos, Armando, and Albert Sandoval. He will be deeply missed and loved from all his family and friends.
