Katherine Telford Andersen, 91, left this mortal life to join Jess, her eternal companion on July 13, in Las Cruces, N.M. She was born in 1921 to John Telford and Caroline Saville in Colonia Juarez, Chihuahua Mexico. She graduated from nursing school in Logan, Utah. After nursing school, she met and married Jess Andersen in Logan in 1944 and was sealed in the Logan Utah Temple. The couple moved to Las Cruces in 1946 and remained until her death. She worked for many years as a nurse in the Las Cruces Public Schools. Katherine loved her family and many friends dearly. She served her community and church in many callings. She loved reading and gardening and most of all she loved a good party with good food she didn't have to cook. She is survived by her children, Judith Pattison (Robert Brunette) of Noosa Australia, Arlin Andersen (Susan), Paul Andersen of Las Cruces, Cynthia Abeyta (Kent) of Lake Point, Utah, Alan Andersen (Holly) of Las Cruces, Elizabeth Beck (Doyle) of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Jess, her parents, 3 sisters, 1 brother and 2 grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Friday , July 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. at La Paz-Graham's Funeral Home, 555 W. Amador Ave. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 21 at 10 a.m. at the Idaho Street Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment will follow at Masonic Cemetery.
