Manuela De Santiago Tarin, 85, of Las Cruces, went to be with the Lord peacefully Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, in Las Cruces surrounded by her children. Manuela was born on Dec. 25, 1926 in Fort Hancock, Texas to Maria Garcia and Lucas de Santiago. She was a loving, devoted and Christian mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. Manuela was actively involved in her husband's ministry for many years through her singing. We will miss you, Mom. Manuela is survived by her nine children, Sara Tarin, Jovita Tarin Tinner and husband Timothy all of San Diego, Calif.; Eli Tarin and wife Lilly, Elizabeth, Samuel Tarin, Esther Tarin-Trujillo and husband, Daniel, all of Las Cruces; Rachel Tarin, Salomon Tarin, Delilah Yao and husband, Masaru all of Albuquerque; and her sister, Carmen de Santiago of Houston, Texas. Other survivors include 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her husband, Pablo Tarin; her parents and three sisters. Visitation for Mrs. Tarin will be held Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road where the evening services is scheduled for 6 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012 in the same chapel with concluding services and interment to follow at 2 p.m. in Fort Bliss National Cemetery, Fort Bliss, Texas with Pastor Ernest Martinez officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Samuel Tarin, Chico Zappia, Eli Tarin, Jr., Desi Torrez, Nicholas Reese, Steven Ling, Randy Ashby and Abraham Tarin.
