Marene Marie Abeyta, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away in her husband's arms surrounded by family and friends on June 23, 2012 at Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga, N.Y. after a heroic but very short battle with cancer. Marene raised five children, Dawn, Marsha, Valerie, Andrea, and Chris. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, Taylor, Mary Lauren, Jonathan, Gabby, Sarah, and Lexi. She lived for the moment as proven by her recent relocation to Malta, N.Y. from El Paso, Texas; and even more so by the marriage to Toby Abetya in the ICU on June 20, 2012. The newest members of her family include Mary Jean Abeyta, Emily Ann Abeyta (Sam Saiz) and their daughter, Sophia; Jennifer Garcia (Cesar) and their children Bryanna, Daniel, Isac and Adam. She is also survived by her sister, Cheryl Sutphin and best friend Melissa Brice (Robert). She will always be on our minds and forever in our hearts. A memorial service in honor of Marene will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012 in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road with Rev. Don Adamski officiating.
