Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Maria De La Luz Jimenez, 57, of Las Cruces left her dwelling place on earth and entered eternal life to be with her heavenly Father on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born March 22, 1955 in Ciudad Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico to Francisco and Maria De La Luz Jimenez. Maria was a seamstress at Sara Lee Hoisery and a member of the Catholic Church. Those left to mourn her passing include three sons, Philip, Christopher and Alejandro Gloria, all of Las Cruces; three brothers, Humberto and Arturo Jimenez, both of Chihuahua City, Mexico, and Oscar Jimenez of Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico; two sisters, Margarita Mata of Las Cruces and Blanca Jimenez of Chihuahua City, Mexico. Other survivors include a grandchild as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation for Maria will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013 in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road where the prayer vigil is scheduled for 7 p.m. Family and friends will join together to celebrate the funeral mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Purification Catholic Church, 5525 Cristo Rey in Doña Ana with Rev. Miguel Macaya officiating. The rite of committal and interment will follow in the Doña Ana Cemetery where she will be laid to rest.
