Marian Franzoy, a loving mother, grandmother and sister, 70, passed away on Jan. 8, 2013 in Mesa, Ariz. following a brief illness. She was born in Oakland, Calif. on Oct. 27, 1942. Marian graduated from Hatch Valley High School in Hatch, N.M. and resided in Arizona for 50 years. Marian was predeceased by her son Gary Franzoy, parents Sam and Neoma Coates, stepfather Wilburn Griffith, sister Linda Fishback and stepsister Lucynthia Wright. She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Becker and son-in-law Paul Becker, her granddaughter Ashley Becker and grandson Jack Becker, her brother Tim and his wife Nancy of Red Rock, N.M., and her half brother Dean Griffith of Garfield, N.M. Marian also had numerous relatives and many friends in Arizona, California and New Mexico. Services will be held Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the Salem Baptist Church, Salem, NM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the National Necrotizing Fasciitis Foundation at their website nnff.org in the name of Marian's late son, Gary.
