Marjorie Rolf Weehler entered eternal life on Saturday, June 22, 2013. She was born July 21, 1919, to Clara and G. Harry Rolf in Atchison County, Mo. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Eldon Richard Weehler; two daughters, Karen Sue and Cynthia Rae Weehler; one grandson, Christian Rama Weehler of San Antonio, Texas; and one sister, Fern Ebert, of Shenandoah, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Darlene Hess, of Shenandoah, Iowa. She was baptized, confirmed and a childhood member of St. Johns Lutheran Church of Westboro, Mo., until her marriage, when she and her husband became members of other Lutheran congregations throughout their married life. Marjorie served as an elementary teacher and later was secretary to the dean of Adult Education, Omaha Campus, University of Nebraska. Intensely interested in education, she chose additional service as a volunteer, teaching English as a Second Language to foreign students, teaching cooking classes and tutoring high school students in the Day Treatment Center, Mental Health, Riverside, Calif. She worked as a Red Cross volunteer in military hospitals. She participated in various church activities, serving in church offices as a member of church council and as a graduate Stephen Minister. Growing up during the Depression years, she developed a strong appreciation for family and church and carried those values throughout her life. She had a wonderful intelligence and graduated valedictorian of her high school class. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend to all who knew her. We will miss her dearly. She was always there to offer help to friends, neighbors and those who needed support. Her love, kindness and giving spirit will be missed by all who loved her, and she will live on in the memories of family and friends forever. There will be a memorial service at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2900 Elks Drive in a few weeks when her husband, Eldon, has recovered from a recent fall. Arrangements are with La Paz-Graham's Funeral Home. To send condolences, go to http://www.lapaz-grahams.com.
