Nancy Sue Harmeson, 71, died Wednesday, April 25th in Las Cruces, NM. She was the wife of retired US Navy Chief Petty Officer Dean F. Harmeson (deceased). She retired from the City of Las Cruces, Thomas Branigan Memorial Library as the Circulation Desk Supervisor. Nancy is survived by her loving children and their spouses: Ross F. and Sherry Harmeson of Las Cruces, NM; Deana L. and Larry Toft of Lucas, TX; and Scott C. and Debbie Harmeson of Janesville, WI. Nancy's grandchildren, whom she loved very much, are: Katie, Megan, Ross Jacob, Breanna, Cayley, Lyndsey and Gracie. Her seven grandchildren will remember her as "Nana" and being 'Tonka Tuff". They will forever ask their grandmother, "Where is Lands a Gocean?", "Who is John Brown?" "What's up with Holy Toldeo?" and "How did the cow eat the cabbage?" Nancy is also survived by her brothers William H. Hines with wife Betty, Steven P. Hines and wife JoAnne, and sister Judith K. Rego. Nancy retired with her loving husband from the US Navy after his 23 years of service. She dearly loved "her sailor" and the Navy. After military service, it was decided by Dean and Nancy to move to Las Cruces, NM in 1983. She found employment and lifelong friends at the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, where she retired after 19 years. She was admired and respected for her years of service to the City of Las Cruces. She was also a member of the "Friends of the Branigan Memorial Library". Known for her incredible life strength and the love for her family, Nancy will be missed forever. At her request, she will be cremated and laid to rest next to Dean at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, CA. TOGETHER FOREVER! In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the " ".
