Ricardo Muñoz Obituary
Ricardo Muñoz, Sr., 77 of Chamberino, entered eternal life Thursday, December 27, 2012 at La Posada-Mesilla Valley Hospice surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 2, 1935 in Meoqui, Chihuahua, Mexico to Bonifacio and Bartola Chavez Muñoz. Ricardo retired in 1998 from Gadsden Independent School District, where he worked as a custodian and was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. Those left to mourn his passing include his loving wife of fifty-three years Augustina Figueroa Muñoz of the family home; three sons, Ricardo Muñoz, Jr., of Chamberino, Alfredo Muñoz and wife Alma, and Israel Muñoz and wife Veronica all of Anthony; one daughter, Divelia Babbey and husband Steve of Las Cruces; three brothers, Mario Muñoz and Jose Angel Muñoz of Chihuahua, Mexico; and Ruben Muñoz of Deming; two sisters, Paula and Rosa Muñoz also of Chihuahua, Mexico. Other survivors included eleven grandchildren, Oscar, Ricardo, III. and Lizyvette Muñoz, Misty Martinez and husband Ernesto Martinez, Jr., Ashley Babbey, Alfred Jonathan, Danae, and Jennah Muñoz, Vanessa, and Valerie Munoz,; four great-grandchildren, Kayli, Zophia, Viviana Miguel M. Chavez. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Oscar Muñoz, one grandson, Steven Babbey., III, and two sisters, Julia Muñoz and Elvira Nunez. Visitation for Mr. Muñoz will begin at 5 PM Sunday, December 30, 2012 in San Luis Rey Catholic Church, 206 S. San Luis Avenue, in Chamberino, where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 6 PM. The Funeral Mass will be at 11 AM Monday, December 31, 2012 in the same church with Reverend Robert Villegas, C.S.C. Celebrant. At his request cremation will take place and Inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date.
