Rodolfo "Rudy" M. Ontiveros, 66, lifelong resident of Las Cruces entered eternal life Friday, Jan. 4, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. "Rudy," as he was fondly known to family and friends, was born June 26, 1946 to Ernesto and Rita Montoya Ontiveros. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. Rudy worked as an auto body repairman for many years and was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. Survivors include two sons, Armando Ontiveros and wife Jennife, Rodolfo Ontiveros and wife Jennifer all of Fresno, Calif.; a daughter, Ernestina Ontiveros of Kingsburg, Calif.; two brothers, Ernesto Onitveros and wife Ana of Albuquerque, Mike Ontiveros and wife Lynda of Las Cruces; three sisters, Mary Infante and husband David of Chandler, Ariz., Alice Sanchez and husband Edward of Las Cruces, and Carol Medina and husband Marcus of Santa Fe; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Recitation of the holy rosary will begin at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013 in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral, 1240 S. Espina St. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 in the same church with Rev. Michael Cerretto officiating. Inurnment of cremains will follow in Immaculate Heart of Mary Columbarium with military honors accorded by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.
