Rose began life as Rose Drysdale in Long Island, N.Y. on Sept. 29, 1915 and passed away in Las Cruces on Jan. 24 of this year. Her father's career in the submarine service in the U.S. Navy allowed Rose the opportunity to grow up in New London, Conn., San Diego, Calif. and Honolulu, Hawaii. After her family retired from the Navy, they settled in Lordsburg, N.M. In Lordsburg, Rose completed her education and met and married Alton Warren. After completing law school, Alton joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation giving them the opportunity to live and work in Newark, N.J., Philadelphia, Pa., New Orleans, La., Salt Lake City, Utah and several cities in New Mexico. In 195,4 they settled permanently in Las Cruces. Alton preceded her in death in 1967. She is survived by two sons, Alton Jr. of Fort Collins, Colo. and Richard of Placitas, N.M. She is also survived by two grandchildren Jennifer Hammerschmidt of Brighton, Colo., Michael Warren of Princeton, N.J. and a great-granddaughter, Charlotte Warren. She will continue to be loved by her family and missed by her friends. Services will be Saturday March 3, 2013 at 3 p.m. at the Masonic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Mesilla Valley Hospice.
