Frances Evelyn Samaniego of Las Cruces, N.M. passed away peacefully Oct. 4, 2012 at the age of 82. She was born August 1, 1929 in Texarkana, Texas. She moved to las Cruces where she worked for many years and retired from C. R. Anthony Co. Frances was buried at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM on Oct. 12, 2012. Napoleon (Nappy) Barela Samaniego was born May 8, 1921 in Rincon, NM. He passed away peacefully Dec.16, 2012 at the age of 91. Nappy was a staff sergeant with the Army Air Corps in World War II and was honorably discharged. Frances and Nappy were joined in marriage on September 4th, 1965. They were married 47 years. Left to carry on their memories are daughter Martha Morrison, her husband Larry, Son - Roger Samaniego, his wife Ann, Son - Monty Samaniego, 2 sisters Lillian Valencia of Las Cruces and Nancy Mathis of Trinity, Alabama. They are also survived by 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. They also leave behind numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Nappy was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Nappy will be buried Dec. 21, 2012 at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, N.M. He will be joined once again with his wife Frances. They will be deeply missed and will always be remembered. A memorial for Frances and Nappy will be held at a later date in January at La Paz - Grahams Chapel in Las Cruces, NM.
