William "Bill" Hart was born in Columbus, Ohio on March 9,1940 and died Jan. 24, 2013. He attended Aquinas High School and was a 1958 graduate. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1958 and was honorably discharged in 1965. He then retired from the Department of the Interior Bureau of Reclamation, working at many hydroelectric power plants throughout the United States. He was a regular blood donor to the American Red Cross and was awarded his 10-gallon pin. He was predeceased by parents, Virginia (Little) Hart and Charles Hart and one daughter Deborah (Hart) Wilds. Survivors include sister Rosemary (Hart) Martin (Frank) of Grove City, Ohio and brother Robert of Electric City, Wash. and daughters Sandra Markin and Carman Williams of Marysville, Ohio and two grandchildren Dena (Wilds) Klosterman (Aaron) of Dayton, Ohio and Scott Williams of Marysville and three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; also best friend and companion Carol Berryman of Las Cruces, N.M. and many friends nationwide. After retirement, he assumed the title of neighborhood dog walker and duck feeder. He was also known as "the two dollar Bill". He was an avid garage saler and when he was not busy, he loved to travel. A viewing for family and friends will be held Saturday, Jan. 26 at 10 a.m. at Getz Funeral Home with a service to immediately follow. A Naval committal service to the sea will be held at a later date. The family wishes to have donations made to the Animal Service Center of the Mesilla Valley in lieu of any flowers or monetary donations.
