Our beloved son, grandson, companion, nephew, cousin and friend, Dominic Andrew Phillips, 21, of Las Cruces, left his dwelling place on earth and entered eternal life to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in Las Cruces as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was born Sept. 18, 1992 in Hobbs, NM to Jaime Juarez and Judy C. Phillips. At the time of his death, Dominic was attending Doña Ana Community College Culinary Arts Program and was a member of the Catholic Church. Those left to mourn his passing include his father, Jaime Juarez of Jal, NM; his mother Judy C. Phillips of Wichita Falls, Texas; four brothers, Nicholas, Jaime and David Juarez all of Odessa, Texas and Lorenzo Alonzo of Wichita Falls; two sisters, Enedina Alonzo of Wichita Falls and Jennifer Alaniz of San Antonio, Texas; his special aunt who raised him, Brenda Phillips of Las Cruces; his companion, Heather Gonzales and her son, Nathaniel also of Las Cruces; his stepmother, Lucy Juarez Garza of Odessa. Other survivors include his maternal grandmother, Guillermina Phillips of Las Cruces; maternal grandfather, Edwin L. Phillips of Jal; paternal grandparents, Merced and Bertha Juarez of Jal; his aunts, Mayela Garcia of El Paso, Texas, Imelda and Joe Moy of Monahans, Texas, Erica Stephanie Juarez of Midland, Texas, Christina Alonzo of Wichita Falls; his nephew, Frankie Garcia; his niece, Marisa Garcia; his cousins, Christian Moy and Jonathan Alonzo as well as numerous other cousins. Dominic will be reposing Monday, March 10, 2014 from 10:30 a.m. to noon in Baca's Peace Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be the same afternoon at 2 p.m. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral, 1240 S. Espina where the Celebration of the Funeral Mass will follow immediately thereafter. Cremation will follow and Inurnment of Cremains will take place at a later date. Serving as casket bearers will be Jaime, Nicholas and David Juarez, Oscar Reyes, Andy Araiza and Alberto Perez.
